PSYCHOLOGICAL CAPITAL TO INNOVATION FROM DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY TO CYBERLOAFING IN PAKISTANI UNIVERSITIES
Main Article Content
Abstract
The effects of psychological capital (PsyCap) on innovative work behaviour (IWB) of university faculty: a mediated–moderation model Grounded in social cognitive theory, this research investigates the mediating role of digital technology adoption and the moderating roles of cyberloafing. Using a multi-wave survey design, data pertaining to research/teaching faculty was collected from public and private universities in Pakistan. Results show that PsyCap predicts IWB in a positive manner and mediation effect signifies the role of digital technology as an important mediator. On the contrary, and in the sense of counterbalancing the moderated mediation, cyberloafing weakens the indirect effect of PsyCap on IWB but AI intensifies it as it smooths the process of embedding digital tools into academic work. This offers significant theoretical and practical implications for the leaders in higher education in terms of streamlining psychological capital, utilizing AI, and controlling negative behaviors in promoting sustainable innovation in Pakistanis' universities.
