RISK-MANAGEMENT MECHANISMS AND THEIR IMPACT ON REHABILITATION EFFICIENCY: A SPORTS THERAPY INTERPRETATION OF INSTITUTIONAL RISK FRAMEWORKS

Abstract
Background: Rehabilitation environments operate within conditions of uncertainty in which injury variability, fluctuating biomechanical demands, and inconsistent diagnostic pathways affect recovery quality. Institutional risk-management models offer conceptual parallels for understanding how structured decision frameworks may stabilise rehabilitation outcomes.
Objective: To reinterpret institutional risk-assessment and risk-pricing mechanisms within a sports-therapy context and determine their influence on injury-risk identification, therapeutic-load planning, and rehabilitation efficiency.
Methods: A descriptive interpretive approach was applied to an existing dataset originally developed for institutional risk evaluation. Questionnaire items related to inspection reports, technician expertise, historical data, pricing adequacy, and competitive pressure were conceptually mapped to clinical equivalents such as injury screening, clinician competence, functional history, therapeutic-load calibration, and treatment consistency. Data interpretation followed a structured manual analysis, with emphasis on dominant response patterns and statistical significance across one-sample t-tests.
Results: Strong agreement emerged regarding the importance of systematic injury-risk assessment, with mean values ranging from 3.99 to 4.63 and high t-statistics (22.412 for inspection-based assessment; 17.375 for technician expertise). Therapeutic-load planning demonstrated similar significance, particularly for scientifically calculated dosing (t = 18.047; mean 4.42). All hypothesis tests yielded p-values of .000, confirming robust alignment across assessment and treatment constructs.
Conclusion: Structured risk-management mechanisms markedly enhance rehabilitation predictability by improving diagnostic precision, optimising therapeutic-load distribution, and reducing variability in treatment progression. The evidence underscores the value of systematic assessment frameworks and scientifically calibrated treatment pathways in supporting efficient and stable rehabilitation outcomes.
