SUM AND DIFFERENCE OF INDEPENDENT
BETA TYPE 3 VARIABLES
Abstract. In this article, we derive density functions of the sum and the difference of two independent random variables each distributed as beta type 3. We express these densities in terms of Appell's first hypergeometric function F1.
